1979 S United States Mint Clad Deep Cameo Proof Set Includes: Lincoln Memorial Cent Obv. was First designed in 1909 by Victor David Brenner to Commemorate the 100th Anniv. of the birth of our nations 16th President Abraham Lincoln. on the 50th Anniv. of the Coin and the 150th Anniv. of the birth of Lincoln in 1959 the Rev. Design was Changed from the Wheat Stalks to a Image of the Lincoln Memorial . : Jefferson Nickel First struck in 1913, the Buffalo nickel had long been difficult to coin, and after it completed the 25-year term during which it could only be replaced by Congress, the Mint moved quickly to replace it with a new design. The Mint conducted a design competition in early 1938, requiring that Jefferson be depicted on the obverse, and Jefferson's house Monticello on the reverse. Schlag won the competition, but was required to submit an entirely new reverse and make other changes before the new piece went into production in October 1938. : Roosevelt Dime First issued in 1946 following the Death of America's Longest Serving President Franklin D Roosevlt who's March of Dime Campaign helped to Cure the painful debilitaing deasise Polo Rev. Depicts a Torch with a Laurel Branch and Oak Branch on the sides ; Washington Quarter First Issued During one of America's Darkest hours duing the Great Depression in 1932 to mark the 200th Anniversary of the birth of George Washington the Rev. Depicts a Art Deco Styled American Bald Eagle ; John F. Kennedy Half Dollar First minted in 1964 to mark the Nations tribute to the Fallen President John F. Kennedy and Reverse Showing the Seal of the President of the US. A Bronze Medal for the US Mint. Obv. features a portrait of Susan B. Anthony, a famous figure in the women’s rights movement in the 19th century. The United States Mint’s Chief Engraver Frank Gasparro created the design based on plate that appeared in the 1881 six volume set History of Woman Suffrage. "LIBERTY" appears above the portrait, with thirteen stars are surrounding, configured seven to the right and six to the left. The motto IN GOD WE TRUST is in the right field with the date is below. Rev. features the same design that was used for the previous Eisenhower Dollar series, but in a smaller format. The design is based on the Apollo 11 mission insignia and features an eagle flying landing on the moon with an olive branch in its claws. Thirteen stars circle the eagle, and the earth as seen from the space appears in the background. The inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA appears above, with E PLURIBUS UNUM below. The denomination, spelled as ONE DOLLAR, is covering the lower part of the moon.
