Description
A beautiful Egyptian faience beaded ‘mask’. The beads are from the Late Period, c. 664 – 332 BC, and the mask is made up of these colorful faience disk beads. Masks of this type were part of the elaborate burial nets which were draped on the mummies of the period, however examples such as this have been restrung and designed in modern times with ancient Egyptian beads. A very nice example! 5 ¼ in x 4 3/8 in (13.3 x 11 cm). Ex East Essex, UK private collection.
