n.d. § Wilde (Oscar) The Harlot's House, 1905, first with loosely inserted alternative printed title dated 1894 and attributing the work to Wilde , first a little soiling and scattered spotting to peripheral ff., second rear endpaper browned, original printed wrappers, a little sporadic soiling, extreme edges with a few nicks and creases, first a little loss at spine ends, both privately printed, 8vo (2) The first a tragic tale of homosexual love in the Catholic Church. Its first appearance was in the short-lived undergraduate periodical The Chameleon (edited by Bloxham) : often attributed to Wilde: indeed, offered by the prosecution at his 1895 libel trial as apparent evidence of Wilde's depravity.
