A Tibetan Gilt Bronze Figure of Tara, Qing Dynasty, 17th-18th century
6-3/4 inches high (17.1 cm)
The sculpture depicting bodhisattva seated in the dhyanasana position on a triangular platform, figure adorned with ornate crowned headdress with painted embellishments to molded jewel mounts and turban, lotus blossoms flanking shoulders, right hand lowered in varada and left hand raised in vitarka mudra, raised on figured base with egg-and-dart motif between beaded and millgrain borders, incised floral mark to underside.

Condition
Rubbing to gilding and paint, heavy patch of rubbing to reverse of base, one lotus leaf broken off and one leaf loose, panel to underside with push, minor breaks to lower fabric tips, otherwise presenting well with wear commensurate with age.
