A GEORGE III CARVED OAK LONGCASE CLOCK, DIAL SIGNED WILSON OF KENDAL, LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY, rectangular bonnet surmounted by a tapering molded cornice above a plain frieze on disengaged Doric colonettes, flanking a glazed and hinged door opening to a brass dial with black enameled Roman chapters hour ring enclosing reticulated cut steel hands over a square aperture framing numbers for days of month, within engraved foliate "C" scroll decoration and applied gilt brass corner spandrels modeled as two cherubs holding aloft the Royal Crown, on a long case centering a crossbanded and hinged door with a pierced bronze escutcheon, raised on a similarly crossbanded block base and conforming plinth with shaped block feet. Height: 74 3/8" Width: 20 5/8" Depth: 11"

Condition

Brass dial has partially broken steel hand, some of the black Roman chapters are worn, possibly modified. The case has surface buildup, age cracks, normal surface marks and scratches.
