STAR USHAK RUG/CARPET FRAGMENT, red field with green leaf and flowering vine design throughout, deep blue medallions centered and along edge of field, with entwining vines in cream, blue primary border, cream and red secondary borders with floral and foliate design throughout. Fragment edge with later applied blue border. 16th/17th century. 5' 2" x 6' 1".
Excellent condition overall, color strong, scattered small areas of wear, some early repairs. All rugs sold "as is".
Provenance: Property deaccessioned by The Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA), to benefit the collections and acquisitions funds.
