SIGNED CORNELIUS GILT-BRONZE PAIR OF MANTLE GIRANDOLES, each depicting Major Duncan Heyward from James Fenimore Cooper’s "Last of the Mohicans," signed "Cornelius & Co." and "PATENT / APRIL 10, 1849" on reverse, ten complete period coffin-form prisms for each. Cornelius & Co., Philadelphia, PA. Circa 1850. 17" H.
Figures excellent with good patina, normal wear to marble, prisms with minor to moderate chipping.
