AMERICAN BRILLIANT CUT GLASS WHISKEY JUG / DECANTERS, LOT OF TWO, comprising a Hawkes "Jubilee" squat form, cross-cut and checkered diamonds, fans, and flashed stars pattern, panel-cut neck with notched edges and horizontal bands, compressed form cut stopper with a star patterned top and cut ovals to the side, side of extension with matching engraved numeral "24"; and remaining example of a compressed waisted form, large hobstars over notched prisms alternating with double hobstars, highlighted with fans and strawberry diamonds, panel-cut neck with wide ring honeycomb-cut spout, ball form facet-cut stopper. Each example with engraved numeral to spout area and an applied handle with double rows of cut punties. Late 19th/first quarter 20th century. 7" HOA, 5 7/8" H to top of spout, 4 3/8" D base and 8 1/2" HOA, 6 1/2" H to top of spout, 2 1/2" D base.
Hawkes example undamaged and with a short 1/2" annealing check to the side of spout; remaining example in good condition, one prism with a moderate shallow chip, pattern with scattered minute to minor flakes/roughness, spout with some roughness to tip; stoppers undamaged.
