A fine example of a turn of the century standing music box in working order. The case is Mahogany and shows it's original or early finish. The cabinet is topped by two finials resting on a gallery of baluster form, turned spindles. The top of the case opens to expose the inner workings and records turning. The lower case is constructed in tombstone form with handles. It tilts forward to display the records which number about 25. The top door is flanked with two fully turned columns. The door is covered with it's original cutout grill work, (with minor repairs). The overall cabinet rests on bracket feet. The right side of the cabinet has the original exposed crank which works properly as it should. The music box sounds truly beautifully, even after a century of enjoyment.
