Description
8th-6th millennium BC. A petrified ostrich egg, with roughly chipped hole to the top with smaller drilled holes to either side for cord; used as a water container in the Jordan valley area. 263 grams, 13cm (5 1/4"). Property of a North London gentleman; formerly from the gallery of Robin Symes; circa 1980.
