A diamond and ruby brooch. Of stylised floral design, with oval-shape ruby and old-cut diamond highlights. Estimated total diamond weight 0.30ct. Length 4.3cms.

Condition

Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

Ruby patchy pinkish to slightly purplish-red, fairly well saturated, with profuse inclusions which somewhat waffect the passage of light through the stone.

Diamonds fairly well matched.

Diamonds fairly bright.

Light and dark coloured inclusions can be seen easily under magnification, some inclusions can be seen with the naked eye.

Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

Ruby in fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.

Metal tested electronically as a mixture of metals.

Weight 23.3gms.
