Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Guerrero, Mezcala culture, ca. 700 to 200 BCE. An early anthropomorphic greenstone figure. A heavy piece with holes for eyes and nose. Arms at side with short legs. Suspension holes shoulders. These figures have been found in Mezcala tombs; greenstone carvings of human forms and heads are the majority of evidence we have for this ancient Mesoamerican culture. Dimensions: 5-1/4" H; Weight: 10 oz. Provenance: Ex. Mid-west collection
