EARLY CUT AND ENGRAVED OPEN COMPOTES, LOT OF TWO, colorless, each hemispherical bowl raised on a short stem and square foot, one with a Strawberry Diamond band above delicate scroll, lattice, and shell engraving, other with scroll and stag engraving above a fine diamond-point band. 19th century. 7 1/2" H, 7 3/4" D, and 7 1/4" H, 8" D.
Strawberry Diamond example undamaged except for a chip to two rim points, other with a large chip to two corners of foot.
