JAPANESE STERLING SALT AND PEPPER SHAKERS, TWO, H 2 3/4"-3 1/4":A salt and pepper shaker in the form of a Japanese lamp-post and a Shinto gate, W.2 1/2". Each marked underneath with a maker's mark in the form of a setting sunburst (see additional photo). Weighs 2.02 troy ounces total. From the collection of Mrs. G. G. Scranton, international traveler from the late 1800's to the mid twentieth century. Friend and patron of Mrs. Dagny Carter, a notable scholar, influenced this collection.
Condition
On the lamp post salt, the top lid has come loose. There is old glue residue in this area.
