A late 18th century George III Period Scottish Grandfather clock in an inlaid Mahogany case. 8-day weight driven time and strike movement with Brass dial with cast spandrels, engraved detail, moon phase and Silvered chapter ring by "Samuel Harper" who was working in Ayr ca. 1799, Mahogany case with traditional broken arch top with blind fret carving and fluted columns, solid lower door with inlaid birds and compass motifs flanked by fluted quarter columns on simple bracket feet. Older finish with wear and minor damage, replaced finial and coil gong, running when cataloged. 83 1/2" high. ESTIMATE $2,000-3,000
