Description
Tuareg people (Mali Sahara Desert), 19th / 20th century. An African leather camel bag made by the nomadic Tuareg people of the Sahara Desert, having elaborate and large dyed leather tassels and traditional geometric medallion; used by the Tuareg people for the transportation and storage of goods on the backs of camels. Overall approximate length 29". Provenance: Property from Estate of Mr. William P. Hale (co-owner of antiques store, The Orient Express located in Buckhead with Mr. Charles L. Mann), Atlanta, Georgia.
