Description
Likely Anglo-Irish, late18th century. Fantastic matched pair of Georgian cut glass twin light wall sconces, now electrified, each with oval pierced backplate issuing two up scrolled notched arms hung with faceted prisms and two down-scrolled notched arms, each hosting a circular candlecup with a Vandyke-collared rim and petal cut bobeche hung with faceted prisms, a strand of faceted pear shaped drops graduating from the upper tier to lower and hung to the center a large faceted flat pendalogue (now sun purpled). Approximate height 22", width 18.5" (arm to arm), depth 13.5". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Anne Ames of Atlanta, Georgia.
