Description
Meissen (German, founded 1710- ), 20th century. A fine reticulated porcelain fruit bowl, compote, centerpiece or tazza having gilt enameled pierced basket weave pattern uniting the medallion shaped cartouches hand-painted to the exterior and interior with fruit and foliage, centered with painted pear and blue berries, rising on a spiral lobed circular base. Marked to the underside with cross blue swords in underglaze blue and in underglaze red numbered "7546/92". Approximate height 9.87", diameter 9". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Susan Knowles of Atlanta, Georgia.
