A FRENCH GOTHIC REVIVAL CARVED OAK COFFER, LAST HALF 19TH CENTURY, the rectangular lid with scrolling wrought iron strap hinges and rivet carved edge opening to interior storage over an arcaded front carved with scrolling tracery centering four relief carved coats of arms over lancet windows, within dovetailed corners with wrought iron straps, flanked by twisted wrought iron ring handles, on a plinth base with stylized Celtic scrollwork. Height: 30 1/2" Width: 54" Depth: 20 1/4"

There are various scratches throughout, wear to the finish, some dark stains near the back corners of the lid, some humidity cracks, areas with possible paint spray, and occasional exposure to woodworm, otherwise in very good condition.
