Description
SET OF SIX AMERICAN, POSSIBLY RICHMOND, VIRGINIA, CLASSICAL INLAID MAHOGANY DINING CHAIRS, each having a molded crest rail with crotch-grained inset outlined with ebony stringing, molded posts terminating in scrolling ears with applied concentric-ring roundels, twist back rail, molded seat rails, on ring turned front legs, and saber back legs. Warm surface. Second quarter 19th century. 33 1/4" HOA, 15 1/2" x 19 3/4" seat.
Four in excellent condition, with one of these having a loss to proper left rear foot, remaining two lacking all or most of the concentric-ring buttons, one with scrolled ear detached but present, and the other with loss of scrolled ear.
