Large Jean Pouyat Limoges Platter. Pink Roses and Blue Foget-me-nots with gilt edge. Measures 18"x14"x1.75". Good Condition. Weight 5 pds. PROVENANCE: A Charleston SC Private Estate. The Pouyat family is considered one of the Patriarchs of the Limoges porcelain industry, beginning with Jean Pouyat’s Grandfather owning a Faience factory in St. Yrieix in the 1760s. Francois Pouyat (1754 to1838) owned clay deposits and a factory producing Faience in Haute-Vienne, Limoges in the latter 1700s, making him one of the very first of all Limoges manufacturers
