Unframed Nagai Iku Japanese Woodblock c. 1950s. A male and female Kappa "Together", first edition. Iku Nagai was born in Nagano prefecture in 1930 and studied Western art and graphic design at Tama Art College. In their book "Guide to Modern Japanese Woodblock Prints" Helen Merritt and Nanako Yamada date the publishing of his Kappa (mythological spirits) prints to 1956 and after, master printer Kyoto Hanga.
