Description
An Egyptian terracotta votive depicting seated pharaoh, Ptolemaic Period, c. 3rd – 1st Century BC, supported below by Harpokrates, his head wearing a short headdress visible at lower left of the pharaoh. The scene includes the pharaoh seated facing on a throne, wearing Double Crown of Upper and Lower Egypt, right hand raised. He is flanked by a pair of baskets, each surmounted by a pine cone. H: 4 ¼ in (10.8cm). A more unusual votive type and quite detailed and attractive. Custom metal stand. Ex collection William Major Tedder.
