Jeweler made circa 1870, 14K gold "L" form handle with chased floral scroll work and inscriptions reading "D.C. Kafflin" on front and "Dec.25/A Token of esteem/1879" on one side and "A.P. Garrison/E.A. Holton, M. Geiger/J. McCartney/W. Smith", mounted on an ebony tapered shaft with original 2 3/4" nickel & steel ferrule, total length 33 3/4". While could not find Mr. Kafflin, there was an E.A. Holton in Boston during that period. He had a photographic studio on the corner of Washington St. in Boston, Mass.
