Description
Chinese Sino-Tibetan gilt bronze Buddha figure of Vaishravana Riding a Lion (Tibetan: nam to se tag shon. English: the Son of Nam To): the Guardian King of the Northern Direction, Lord of Yakshas.
Vaishravana, with a regal bearing, has one face and the left, cradled against the side is a mongoose excreting gems from the mouth. The King is adorned with a jewelled crown, gold earrings and elaborate flowing garments of manifold richly textured, along with pants and boots in Mongolian style. With the chest covered by a coat of armour he sits atop a white snow lion with a green mane above a lotus blossom surrounded by rays of nimbus light emanate from the body and the head is surrounded by aureola. Extensive trace of gilt and green pigment on the hair. The underside with incised quatrefoil flori-form petal visvavajra mark.

Condition
EXCELLENT condition, with normal anomalies in nature, sign of stressed surface, minor scratch & dent. Surface traced wear and or declined to gilding. Normal, considering ages and wears.
