SCOTT & BLACK: Charles Scott (1903-1946) English Aviator & Tom Black (1899-1936) English Aviator. Winners of the MacRobertson Air Race in 1934. Signed vintage Tuck postcard by both Scott and Black individually. The image depicting the de Havilland Comet aircraft 'Grosvenor House', below two photographs of Black and Scott. Signed by both Scott and Black in bold black fountain pen ink, with their names alone, to a clear area of the verso. With a small crease to one corner, otherwise VG The MacRobertson Trophy Air Race (also known as the London to Melbourne Air Race) took place October 1934 as part of the Melbourne Centenary celebrations. Scott and Black completed the race in a time of less than 3 days, despite flying the last stage with one engine throttled back because of an oil pressure indicator giving a faulty low reading.
