Description
[VICTORIA]: (1819-1901) Queen of the United Kingdom Great Britain & Ireland 1837-1901. Vintage unsigned, printed broadside, one page, Truro, 26th June 1837, being a proclamation, declaring, in part, 'It is proposed to proclaim Her Majesty Queen Alexandrina Victoria, at Truro, on Monday next the 26th instant, at four o'clock in the afternoon. In which ceremony the Mayor invites the inhabitants to join to testify their loyalty and attachment to our new Sovereign' further continuing, 'The following will be the order of the procession: Constable on horseback, a detachment of the Inniskilling Dragoon… Boys of the schools with oak branches in their hats, four abreast… Members of the Lodge of Free Masons in full costume… Trumpeters, Queens Banners… Mayor and Town Clerk on horseback…Inhabitants, three abreast…' With a few small tears to the horizontal creases, and minor age wear.
