Provenance: Various antiques come from the estate of the late Chinese ceramics expert Michael Vermeer. This sale also features items from the Prominent Montreal estate collection of Ms. Rose. Ms. Rose lived in Shanghai from the year 1924-1944, when due to the second world war the family moved back to UK. Ms. Roses maiden name was Dangoor, her father name was Maurice Dangoor. This family is of very important middle eastern decent with Royal family ties and also owned one of the world’s first and largest publishing companies dating back to the 19th century. Ms. Rose moved to Montreal in the 1960's after her father passed bringing many of the family’s heirlooms from the 20 years spent in China with her. The items in this sale are estate fresh and have never been offered on the open market since the family acquired them in the earlier 1900’s period.
