The plates depict nearly all the arteries of the human body as well as the various organs. There are special plates of the heart, omentum, base of the skull, diaphragm, uterus, and spinal cord. Ludwig Choulant states that 'this work will always remain the main source of information for accurate anatomic studies, especially of the arteries and the viscera.'"
