from the set of only 4 produced for Sir John Dalrymple's abortive publication, depicting the House of Commons being overrun by the French, Fox in bonnet-rouge fanning a brazier burning records, etching printed in dark brown, 320 x 362mm., trimmed on or just within the platemark but outside border and all text, [BM Satires 9180], by the engraver, 1798; with 2 other political satires by Gillray from the same year, Doublûres of Characters [BM 9261], and [New moralit]y; -or- the promis'd installment of the high-priest of the theophilanthropes [BM 9240], the latter trimmed into the image at both sides, both with old folds ; with 3 other Gillrays, plus one by Miller after Gillray, and a Rowlandson, 3 with original hand-colouring, [BM 8981B, 9217, 9245B, 9702, and 9986], 1797-1803 (8)
