This lot is an original ink and crayon drawing on paper depicting Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse with a signature reading 'Andy Warhol' under Mickey's right foot. A tailless Mickey is seen from behind, looking over his right shoulder and holding a banana in his left hand. Done in the pop art style associated with Andy Warhol (1928-1987). This ink and crayon image is framed under glass in a black wooden frame. En verso is a large paper label reading 'Leanne Hull Fine Art in Toronto, Ontario'. Underneath this stamp is handwritten in ink: 'Andy Warhol 'Mickey Mouse' Ink/Crayons Size: 13.5 x 10.25 inches.' A cut-out is also present en verso, exposing two stamps, one reading 'The Estate of Andy Warhol,' and the other with the initials 'A W' printed in the center of a circle, and "Authorized by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts", around the outside. Between the two stamps are a series of letters and numbers written in Pencil (possible Gallery or Catalog index numbers).The outer edges of the back of the frame have been taped with masking tape.

Mickey Mouse was a popular subject for Warhol as exemlified in his 'Myths' series composed of ten screenprints, each depicting a well-known fictional character; Mickey, Santa Cluas, Superman and the Wicked Witch from 'The Wizard of Oz,'.

Warhol's banana is well known as the cover for The Velvet Underground's debut album, 'The Velvet Underground & Nico.', which Warhol Produced. He managed the Lou Reed lead band early on and featured them in his 'Exploding Plastic Inevitable' event.

The image is bright, with vibrant colors and clear lines. A very faint smudge can be seen near Mickey's left hand, only visible upon close scrutiny. There is small, maybe a ¼ “, rounded chip of paper near the top right of the page that would be easily matted out and in no way interferes with the image. The simple frame is largely without defects, with only a few light faint spots on the rear top edge. In overall vert nice comdition.
