DESCRIPTION: A Chinese cloisonne enameled fangding censer. Features a square form, arching design. The lid features a gilded foo dog motif handle atop a turquoise enameled base resting along the center of the gilded reticulated lid in the motif of spiraling clouds and bats. Bottom of the cover features vibrantly hued, enameled renderings of foo dog heads and traditional Chinese patterns. The body of the censer features enameled dragons with meandering tails and further traditional Chinese designs along with taotie masks. Finished with gilded foo dog heads with meander patterned handles in their mouths along with enameled meander patterned feet at each corner.
