With personalized certificate from the publishers bound in at the front of Vol. 1, stating that the set is one of the first impressions of the edition, dated April 30, 1912. A scarce, finely bound complete set of the works of Mary Augusta Ward, a British novelist who wrote under her married name as Mrs. Humphry Ward. She worked to improve education for the poor and she became the founding President of the Women's National Anti-Suffrage League. During WWI she was asked to write books to explain the war by the American president.
