AMERICAN LINEN PLAIN-WEAVE HAND TOWELS / SHOW TOWELS, LOT OF TWO, with cotton cross-stitch embroidery, fringe and cotton tabs, each rectangular, the top and right side edges hemmed, left selvage edge, plain cotton hang tabs; design features initials "CW", one with additional flanking and separating geometric shapes. Likely Pennsylvania. Second quarter 19th century. 48 1/4" x 17" and 50 1/4" x 17 1/2" OA.
Very good condition overall with some fading and minor toning.
Provenance: From the Allentown Art Museum to benefit future acquisitions for the Museum's textile collection.
