Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Huastec, ca. 900 to 1250 CE. A wonderfully abstract sculpture carved from a single piece of stone depicting a sweet canine creature standing on all fours with his long tail wrapped around his body and a sweet facial expression. Nice remaining red and white pigment and mineral deposits. Man's best friend! Size: 5.125" L x 3.5" W x 6.5" H (13 cm x 8.9 cm x 16.5 cm)
