Pen-&-ink on drafting linen. Each approx. 116x116 cm (45½x45½").
Original architectural plans for the first and third floors of the grand Masonic Temple of California, which was constructed in 1911 to replace the original lodge at 1 Montgomery Street which was destroyed in the 1906 earthquake and fire. An outstanding example of the Beaux-Arts period, the temple is primarily Italian Gothic in design, with a Romanesque-style arched entrance and touches inspired by cathedrals in France.
Condition
First floor plan with some edge wear, a few short tears & tape repairs; the pair in generally very good condition.
