Map of Inyo County with a view of Mt. Whitney from Lone Pine, sketched by Miss Molie Stevens; printed text at bottom and right side. Title printed on front cover, gilt trim: "District Mining and Descriptive Map of Inyo County California." There is an advertisement on the inside of the back wrapper for Carson and Colorado Narrow Gauge Railroad through Owens River Valley. Currey & Kruska notes that the map was "Published to promote the potential mineral wealth of Inyo County and the recreational value of the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada in the Mount Whitney region. The map names and defines the boundaries of the county's mining districts based on data provided by J.H. Crossman and several others acquainted with the area. The four-column 'addendum' presents Keeler's impressions of the high country in the vicinity of Mount Whitney based on a hunting and fishing excursion in the back country..."
