Description
Central America, Guatemala, early 20th century CE. A wooden slingshot, hand-carved in the form of an acrobatic male figure either doing a handstand or swinging from his hands. The man is dressed in a hat, shirt, pants, and shoes and presents a focused expression. Elaborately carved slingshots (ondillas) are a common theme of Guatemalan folk art from this time period. Size: 6.125" L x 2.5" W (15.6 cm x 6.4 cm)
