1944 Original Authentic W.W.II. U.S. Signal Corps Photo 192775-s.Only bridge Germansâ€™ 4th Paratroop Division did not destroy was medieval Pontevecchio. North approach was blocked 20 feet high with debris of demolished buildings. Small lane was later cleared for passage of jeep bearing relief food (flour provided by A.M.G.). Debris was heavily mined by supposedly new type of bell mine. Eight Army, Florence, Italy, 8/16/44.

Stamped for Release.

Pencil dated 28 August.
