Description
A large Roman orange-ware cooking pot, Holy Land, c. 3rd Century AD, the globular body with rounded bottom and vertical rim flanked by strap handles. The entire vessel is decorated with close-set horizontal ridging. H: 7 in (17.7cm). Earthen and mineral deposits. Cf. Hayes, Roman Pottery in the Royal Ontario Museum, p. 56, no. 288 for an identical example; Ex German private antiquities collection.
