Description
Steuben Glass 'New Hampshire' Covered Footed Bowl, from Steuben's 'United States in Crystal Series', #227, ca. 1959, in clear leaded glass, front engraved 'New Hampshire', 'The Devil and Daniel Webster', and with a figural image depicting a scene from the Stephen Vincent Benet story about a New Hampshire man who is defended by Daniel Webster after selling his soul to the Devil, blank designed by George Thompson and engraving designed and executed by Sidney Waugh, the 'United States in Crystal' series included bowls engraved with a historical scene representing each of the U.S. states, purportedly one of only four 'New Hampshire' bowls known, 14 1/4" high, 7 3/8" diam. Fine condition, no chips, cracks or damage.
