Description
A George II Irish mahogany side table, circa 1750, the moulded rectangular top above a frieze drawer and turned tapering legs surmounted by carved shell terminals and terminating in carved lion paw feet, 71cm high, 85cm wide, 54cm deep For a related 'tea' table, see The Knight of Glin and James Peill, Irish Furniture, Yale University Press, 2007, page 241, fig. 155. The specific type of carved lion paw foot demonstrated by the current table appears to be an unusual feature for tables of this type.
