Suite of Eight American Late Victorian Oak Dining Chairs
fourth quarter 19th century, in the manner of R. J. Horner, comprised of a pair of armchairs, h. 50-1/4", and six sidechairs, h. 48-1/4", each with a carved crest, the arms terminating in leonine heads, scalloped apron and cabriole legs ending in carved paw feet.

Condition
Most chairs are somewhat loose and need re-gluing. Fabric is clean; missing on seat of one arm. Some
seats with springs needing re-tying. Good, intact finish with scuffing on feet. One chair missing front
laminated toe. Another with a poorly replaced crest finial. One armchair missing half a front toe. Other
armchair missing half a front toe. Another chair missing toes in front on one leg, toes on side on another
leg, and front center.
