(French, 1883-1955). Signed "Maurice Utrillo.V." lr, 33 1/4 x 25 1/4 in., framed This lively floral still life by the Parisian artist, Maurice Utrillo, depicts a subject matter that became popular in his work in the later part of his life. He is best known for his city scenes and landscapes and his most famous works depict the Montmartre neighborhood. Following his death in 1955, many retrospectives have taken place worldwide. His work is found in the collections of the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
