This is a recovered copy of Les Éditions G. Van Oest 1930 french-language publication of Marie-Juliette Ballot's Le Décor Intérieur au XVIIIe Siècle, a Paris et dans L'Ile de France. The blue cloth cover (13.25" x 10.25") is in near fine condition, with the slightest edge scuffs, but no stains or tears. The spine is securely attached. The gilt lettering and design are unfaded. The inside is very good. The original cover is bound into the first pages. There is recurrent foxing and other stains, including some to bottom edges. The most prominent flaws are to the last several pages, which have stains to the bottom edges and missing material from the lower outside edges of the last two pages (see rightmost photo for image of the page most affected). Neither of these flaws extends into the live areas. The text pages, 116 body text pages followed by indices, are mostly uncut. The text is uniformly unfaded and legible, with the above-mentioned foxing and stains mostly in the margins, and mostly light. Many pages have no stains of any kind. In the following section, the 72 full page plates are unfaded. There is foxing to a number of margins, but no notable stains to the live areas. The binding is tight throughout, with no loose or missing pages. There are no stamps or other attachments. There is no writing. There are a few corner creases, though almost all pages have none. There are no notable tears. The accompanying photos are accurate reflections of the conditions.
