Long run of this scarce weekly periodical, the title variously translated as Morals, Manners, Mores, or Customs. Phong Hoa marks a revolution in Vietnamese culture - it is one of the first, if not the first, anti-traditional, modernist-leaning, satirical illustrated journals to appear in Vietnam and became the centerpiece of the Tu Luc Van Coan (translated as Self Reliance Liiteray Group). The journal began in mid 1932 and ran until mid 1936. The earliest issue in the present group is from August 1932, then a long hiatus, the next being November 1933, and continuing to Dec. 21, 1934. The photocopies are from March 9, 1934, and March 23, 1934 to June 8, 1934.
