Description
**First Time At Auction**
Ancient Greece, ca. 5th to 4th century BCE. A group of four terracotta animals, possibly meant as votive offerings, in the forms of a bull, a ram, and two different birds. Each figure has at least one hole drilled into it, primarily on the underside or rear end, with the smaller bird having two holes meant to be used as a whistle. Each animal has short and pointed legs to stand upon, and the whistling bird has its own pedestaled base in place of feet. Size of largest animal: 2.625" L x 1.75" W x 1.75" H (6.7 cm x 4.4 cm x 4.4 cm).

Condition
Bull: extensive surface pitting, several stable hairline fissures, and pigmentation transfer, presumably from another object. Ram: losses to one horn and two back legs and earthen deposits on surface. Larger bird: overall excellent with minor mineral deposits. Whistling bird: whistle tone hole slightly broken, but still produces a high-pitch sound; ancient loss to top of head.
