An incredible rare and desirable voyages book by William Dampier. This book covers some of the most important and famous voyages from before the 17th-century. Dampier was an explorer and navigator himself and wrote this book in 1697 as a journal-style work. According to Lowndes,

“This work, written in the style of a plain blunt sailor, and full of correct information, particularly relative to the numerous islands in the Pacific Ocean – Cook, Byron, and others have been greatly indebted”

This book follows the adventures of pirates and buccaneers.

This is the first edition published the same year that Dampier died. It was is the edition that subsequent publishers would use for their reimpressions of French editions. This set includes some of the most incredible and detailed maps and illustrations.
