UNITED STATES PATRIOTIC TEXTILES, LOT OF TWO, comprising a turkey red linen towel with spread-wing eagle and shields, lettered "THE INDEPENDENCE OF THE UNITED STATES Declared JULY 4th, 1776" and "WASHINGTON Elected PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL UNION MARCH 1789, E PLURIBUS UNUM", and an embroidered pillow sham with "IN GOD WE TRUST / U.S." surrounding a turkey red eagle. Fourth quarter 19th century. 33" x 20 1/2" and 25" x 26".
Towel unused with some age spotting at fold lines, sham with all-over toning and some spotting.
