NORTH CAROLINA APPALACHIAN OVERSHOT WOVEN COVERLET, red/rose, black, white, having a geometric design with cotton warp and wool weft, made in two sections and joined at the center. Fabric tag on one corner reading "CROSSNORE SCHOOL / CROSSNORE, N.C." in blue. The Crossnore School, Crossnore, North Carolina. Circa 1925. 75" x 95".
Very good condition overall with several small scattered stains, excellent color retention and no visible fading.

Catalogue Note: Crossnore Weavers was founded in 1913 by Mary Martin Sloop as an economic opportunity for women and to support the newly opened Crossnore School (now Crossnore School and Children's Home).
